Basic Manga: How to Draw the Face Profile

In making a manga character you must not stick to one angle or position. I will show some techniques on making different face in profile.

1. Start with a cirle.
(cirle is the basic step to draw the face)
Then, make a shape similar to Letter "v" but, in a slightly bend position just like in the picture 1.
This serves as the chin of your character and this is where the nose is located.

2. Vertical line curves down into jaw and horizontal line where the eyes and ears is located.

3. Adding Facial features
To draw the eyes, start with the letter "v" again but this time just make the letter smaller.
Draw the bridge of the nose where slants downward from nose.

4. Finish the features
The lips and chin can vary greatly with different characters, and take long of basic structures and play with proportions.
Lastly, draw the hair.
